WiFi Booster For iOS 8 Released, displays All Weak Hotspots On iphone In range
If you’ve ever struggled to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot that you know is there but may be on the brink of its wireless range then you will know how irritating it can be when iOS keeps showing it, then hiding it in the settings app. That’s because by default the settings app will hide any Wi-Fi network that it deems to not have the required signal strength, effectively hiding anything it deems not usable.
The thing is, that doesn’t always help matters when you know a network is there – if only barely. The jailbreak tweak WiFi Booster is a wonderful little tweak that takes the settings app and fiddles with it in such a way that all networks are shown while also adding a feature that shows the network hotpot’s MAC address as well as its actual signal strength. The problem with that particular tweak is that it was available for iOS 7 and below. until now.
Freshly updated with a version, WiFi Booster takes the old tried and tested formula and updates it for use with iPhones and iPads running iOS 8. beyond that there isn’t a great deal new here, but that won’t be a problem for those that have just been waiting for the tweak to get the bits and pieces required in order to make it play nicely on iOS 8.
The update itself is a free one for those that already own WiFi Booster, but if that isn’t you then you can pick it up from scratch now for just $1.99. If you find yourself perpetually finding and then losing Wi-Fi hotspots, then WiFi Booster is worth checking out right now, and it’s not exactly expensive at a couple of dollars either.
WiFi Booster can be downloaded from Cydia today, and lives entirely in the Wi-Fi area of the settings app – no icons cluttering up your perfectly curated home screen here folks!
